Eurydice's Earrings
The fate of Eurydice is one of the most tragic stories in Greek mythology. She was a nymph, married to the musician Orpheus, whose melodies bridged the realms of the living and the dead.

Freshwater pearls, vintage butterfly crystals, vermeil.
STORY
Eurydice died shortly after her wedding to Orpheus, as she was bitten by a poisonous snake. Her soul was taken to the underworld, leaving Orpheus devastated.
Orpheus decided to bring Euridice back from the underworld. He traveled down to Hades and Persephone and played his lyre so beautifully that the gods of the underworld were moved to tears. They agreed to let Eurydice return to the land of the living - but on one condition - Orpheus could not turn to look at her until they had both reached the surface of the earth.
