About the Artist

The Artist, Louise Nevander, was schooled as a still photographer, but have since then also worked in filmmaking. She was born in the university town of Lund, in the southern region of Skåne, Sweden.

In her work, she takes inspiration from mythology, folklore and art history. She wanted to make something physical out of her stories, and so Aurora's Chamber was born. With this project, she invites you into an enchanted world of jewelry and art with a focus on women's history, mythology, and fairytales. All Louise's art and jewelry was designed by her in her studio in Lund.

Starting from the premise that fairytales originated as tales for adults, and that they are dark stories telling us of life, birth and death, but also of the limbo that exists there in between, she sets out to explore the human condition, and with it the ambiguity of our relation to nature, as it is both a nurturing caregiver and a fundamental threat to our existence.
