Lady's mantle is a plant that in the world of popular imagination was associated with the Virgin Mary, which according to some interpreters may have to do with the fact that it is a so-called uterine herb, which in today's herbal medicine is used for menstrual and menopausal problems.

Old folk names for Lady's mantle are Virgin Mary's cloak, Virgin Mary's robe and Our Lady's cloak - perhaps a long time ago referring to another divine lady in our Nordic nature.
